The notion of Green Aviation is taking hold in the aviation community. Yet there is no clear definition (although some have attempted) to what it means or implies. In this article, we first bring into focus the contribution of the aviation sector to carbon emissions reduction and mitigation efforts to reduce that. We then propose our own definition of Green Aviation based on the total quality management framework and formulate a conceptual map allowing for the operationalization of the Green Aviation definition.
